On April 16, something truly special happened at Wesley Manor. We gathered for our very first Legacy Society Tea. While it was our first time coming together in this way, it certainly won’t be the last. This is the start of a new tradition…a moment each year for us to pause, reflect, and celebrate the individuals who are building the future of Wesley Manor through their generosity and vision.
A Quiet, Powerful Kind of Giving
Legacy Society members have made a deeply meaningful decision: to include Wesley Manor in their estate plans. It’s not something flashy, or something you’ll see on social media. It’s a quiet, powerful act of faith and love, one that says this place matters. These folks want Wesley Manor’s mission of faith, compassion, and care to continue for generations to come.
As Isaiah 58:11 says,
“They shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water whose waters never fail.”
That’s what legacy giving is – a spring that continues to give, long after we’re gone.
The Teacup: A Simple, Powerful Symbol
The image of a teacup was the perfect symbol for this event. A teacup is small, simple, and easy to overlook. But when it’s full, and when it’s shared, it becomes a powerful gesture of care, love, and community. And that’s exactly what our Legacy Society does. Every gift, every planned bequest, is a way of filling the cup for someone else.
A Bright, Faith-Filled Future
Looking ahead, the future of Wesley Manor is bright, and the legacy of our supporters is helping light the way. We’re planning carefully, dreaming boldly, and moving forward with deep gratitude. In the coming years, we’re committed to:
- Updating our facilities so they feel more like home
- Continuing to serve residents in need, even when their financial resources run out
- Investing in programs and enrichment that bring joy, meaning, and dignity to every day of life
- Ensuring Wesley Manor remains a faith-based, compassionate, and financially sound community for generations to come
A Legacy of Doing Good
John Wesley once said:
“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can…”
We love this quote. It doesn’t say “only while you’re alive.” It’s a call to keep doing good, long after we’re gone. That’s exactly what our Legacy Society members are doing – and on behalf of our staff, our board, our residents, and those future residents who don’t yet know how blessed they’ll be – thank you.
Thank you for believing in Wesley Manor’s mission. Thank you for filling the cup, again and again. May God bless each of you, and may your cup always be full.
